Not many of the VGA announcements were exciting or surprising for me except for Guillermo del Toro’s announcement for his survival-horror title: inSane. With a release date in 2013, the title is definitely not rushing out and hopefully will be as good as del Toro’s films with a touch of his fantasy insight. Guillermo’s official title on inSane will be the External Creative Director under development for Volition Inc and published THQ.
The thing that was not announced on the newly announced franchise is that inSane will be a trilogy. Also, THQ and del Toro will collaborate on transmedia projects under the franchise and potential other franchises. THQ Executive Vice President’s Danny Gilson commented on theses new announcement. ”THQ is committed to creating great games by identifying the world’s most talented artists and providing them with the creative support to design innovative game play experiences,” said Bilson. “Guillermo is not only an incredibly gifted writer and film director, but also an avid gamer, and we are excited to bring his talents to our medium. We are confident his unique point of view will create visually stunning adventures, filled with rich and rewarding game play.”
According to Joystiq a private source from del Toro, inSane will also be a film but Guillermo will hold the rights for the movie as THQ holds the rights for the game series. The next announcement for the title will probably be at GDC in San Fransisco. To check out the original trailer, click the link here to go to THQ’s YouTube page.
