Alternative Rock group 311 played The Grove of Anaheim to a sold out capacity crowd. Currently on their spring tour, they received an overwhelming ovation from everyone in attendance while walking on stage. Fans shouted “Three eleven, three three eleven” causing the group to shed smiles across the floor and scream “How you doin’ Anaheim!”
Lead singer Nick Hexum wasted little time energizing fans as he started the set list with Beautiful Disaster. The crowd exploded with excitement as they sang along to the popular hit. People crowd surfed across the general admission area while clouds of smoke appeared in the air. On stage, Members bounced to the exciting rhythm and spun their heads like whirlwinds as they walked from coast to coast. Bassist P-Nut expressed his southern California support by wearing Lakers apparel throughout the night. LED lights flickered between the frets of his bass every time he strummed.
Unforgettable moments included a spectacular drum performance with the entire band as they played in unison. Their synchronized beats expressed the chemistry shared after a 20-year career. P-Nut also performed an amazing bass solo that caused the walls to vibrate. Guitarist Tim Mahoney added the addicting chorus riffs everyone participated to. The twenty-two song set list included fan favorites Come Original, Amber and Down while encores Who’s got the Herb and Creatures sent the crowd home. 311 continue their spring tour in the Midwest before headlining a cruise towards Turks and Caicos Islands. Expect their tenth studio album later this year.
