Everest
Los Angeles based rock group Everest played an intimate performance at Bootleg Theater. They’ve recently announced a “Residents in February” tour, which includes shows in Los Angeles on Monday nights, San Diego on Tuesdays and San Francisco on Thursdays. The evening started with lead singer Russell Pollard singing Catalyst off their latest record On Approach. Fans quickly responded with warm cheers as they sang along with the group. Their sound dynamics ranged throughout the night as they alternated from soft melody driven tracks to aggressive upbeat renditions.
Guitarists Jason Soda and Joel Graves provided amazing musical displays as each member stood out individually. Elijah Thompson’s thumping bass sent vibrations that could be felt inside everyone’s bones. Davey Latter completed the five-piece by adding powerful drum rhythms and strong beats. The dimly lit venue secured the intimate atmosphere Everest set out to accomplish as everyone in attendance enjoyed a clear view. They closed the evening with the fan favorite Let Go as everyone excitedly participated by singing.
Everest’s nine song set list included I’ve had This Feeling Before, East Illinois and Rebels in the Roses. Currently in the studio working on new material, expect them to test new songs in upcoming events.
