Meat Beat Manifesto at the El Rey Theatre

British electronic group Meat Beat Manifesto annihilated the El Rey Theatre last Wednesday night with a powerful musical display. Currently on tour promoting their thirteenth album release Answers Come In Dreams, they pushed the limits of electric current from their equipment. The evening included thick layers of drum and bass, dubstep, trip-hop and industrial dance that caused an overwhelming reaction amongst the audience.

Members Jack Dangers and Benjamin Stokes stood on stage as they used laptops and countless electronic equipment to create their sound. Behind them was a large projection screen that displayed rapid images, which accommodated the music. Dangers and Stokes repeatedly bounced left and right as they sent out a musical onslaught into the adrenaline driven audience. Every song resulted in massive vibrations that delivered a powerful thump inside the crowd’s chest. Everyone loved the ninety-minute set-list, which caused positive vibes floating in the venue and constant dancing across the floor.

Meat Beat Manifesto played with intensity and energy. Their musical passion could be felt across the room as people bounced from the distorted rhythms. Dangers used a webcam that projected his face on screen that added multiple layers of colors and distortion. The visual effects appeared just as effective as the music, combining countless material of popular film clips from multiple titles.
