Grand Theft Auto V Trailer Release

Fans that have been waiting patiently since 2008 can now breathe a sigh of relief as the trailer for Grand Theft Auto 5 burned through the interwebs on November 2.  Slated for release sometime in early 2012, this title has been described as open world in the city of Los Santos, with the pursuit of money the focus.

According to Rockstar Games’ press release along with the trailer, they stated that Five is a “…bold new direction in open-world freedom, storytelling, mission-based game play and online multi-player.”  In a Take Two press release, founder of Rockstar Games Sam Hauser added: “Grand Theft Auto Five is another radical reinvention of the Grand Theft Auto universe.”

The game is set in present day California within the city of Los Santos.  If you played Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, you will immediately recognize the city as one of the game’s three featured destinations.  Cities for Los Santos are represented with slightly changed names, like “Vineland” for “Hollywood,” and if you decide to take a “Downtown Little Seoul” exit off of the Five North Los Puerta freeway, you can see how the developers took care to provide the gamer with small touches that bring on familiarity about those of us that reside in Southern California.

Rockstar Games also boasts that this will be their biggest map they’ve ever created, with rumors buzzing that it will surpass the likes of the open world map of Red Dead Redemption, which they released May, 2010. View the trailer below, and get yourself pumped for this epic adventure.
