Dillon Francis releases three mid-tempo, bass heavy tracks on three-time Grammy winner Skrillex’s OWSLA today. The Something, Something, Awesome. EP demonstrates Dillon’s impressive ability to craft dreamy, emotive beats that incorporate elements of Moombahton (the melange of Dutch House and Reggaeton created by Dave Nada), Electro House and Dubstep, a unique amalgam that caught the ear of Diplo early last year. The Mad Decent CEO immediately took Dillon under his wing, releasing several tracks on the second edition of his venerable Blow Your Head compilation series as well as the later IDGAFOS single, launching a very promising career almost immediately.
In the past year alone, Dillon has gone on to play shows all over the world, joining Skrillex on the epic Mothership Tour where the two forged a bond that lead to his recent signing to OWSLA. Something, Something, Awesome. is a concise offering, featuring ethereal synth melodies, chants and driving bass lines that build beautifully and drop abruptly. The EP features two shimmering original compositions as well as the standout collaborative track with OWSLA alum Kill The Noise, appropriately titled “Dill The Noise”.
