SKATERS is happy to release a new video for their song “Done For Good” video. The video was directed by Jeremy Cohen who also co-produced along with male lead Nick Robinson-the female lead is played by Stephanie Hunt. As SKATERS’ lead singer explains: “The video for “Done For Good” is about that care free summertime type love. Kind of like the United States in Iraq, rush right in with no exit strategy.”
The Brooklyn-based band have been taking their newfound home by storm packing venues from the Lower East Side to deep Bushwick, Brooklyn and dropping their debut SCHEMERS EP online for free.
Formed in late 2011 after Singer Michael Cummings and Noah Rubin (The Dead Trees, Adam Green, Little Joy) spent a year trading demos back and forth from Los Angeles to London with Guitarist Joshua Hubbard (The Paddingtons, Dirty Pretty Things). The three met in the middle to record an EP in a Manhattan loft, and never left the city. The result is a smart, dynamic punk record drawing inspiration from obscure genres and cultures. And, a live band featuring a rotating cast of young energetic musicians and veterans of the Boston and NYC music scenes.
SKATERS emerged onto the Lower Manhattan scene in the beginning of 2012, playing their brand of eclectic and dynamic punk music to consistently packed venues and parties. Their Debut EP, Schemers, is inspired by NYC music and art from all decades. The band consists of Michael Ian Cummings, Josh Hubbard and Noah Rubin, but also includes artists Kelsey Bennett and Brian Stevenson as permanent contributing members of the team. They expect to release another EP, more videos, and published art by Fall, 2012.
