THE HOOTENANNY CELEBRATES 18 YEARS ON JULY 7 WITH RANCID, THE REV. HORTON HEAT AND MORE
May 30, 2012 – Los Angeles, CA – Southern California’s beloved annual music and kustom car festival The Hootenanny will make its return for its 18th consecutive year on July 7 at Oak Canyon Ranch in Silverado Canyon with performances by punk rock legends Rancid, The Rev. Horton Heat, Lucero, Bouncing Souls and many more. The event will also feature hundreds of local SoCal vendors, over 300 classic cars and a Miss Hootenanny pinup contest. Over the last 18 years, The Hootenanny has become one of Southern California’s most anticipated annual events celebrating the convergence of music and kustom car culture that have helped shape the region’s iconic fashion, lifestyle and sound. Attended by thousands of fans from around the world each year, The Hootenanny has featured performances by pioneers that have influenced and inspired the spirit and soul of the thriving scene like Jerry Lee Lewis, Social Distortion, Chuck Berry, Chris Isaak, Joe Strummer, Stray Cats, The Cramps, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Los Lobos, Tiger Army, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys among many others.
This year The Hootenanny makes a strong return with headlining California punk rock legends Rancid, who are making their first ever appearance at the festival in celebration of their 20th anniversary. They’ll be supported by rockabilly favorites The Reverend Horton Heat, punk-country rockers Lucero, New Jersey punk rockers The Bouncing Souls and more.
The Hootenanny Car Show will feature hundreds of kustom cars, kustom kulture artists, pinstripers and painters, a live “chop top” demo as well as pinup girls, live tiki carving, hundreds of local vendors and plenty of drinks and food to go around.
