Bristol-based glitch/bass duo, KOAN Sound, are gearing up to release their new EP The Adventures of Mr. Fox, September 4th via Skrillex’s record label, OWSLA. Comprised of 19-year-olds Will Weeks and Jim Bastow, KOAN Sound has forged their own unique sound in the crowded field of today’s electronic music world. By consciously moving away from solely relying on the 140 bpm dubstep format and delving into a wider array of electronic genres, namely funky glitch hop as well as 80′s style synth and boogie, the twosome has garnered attention from major critics and artists alike, including Aphex Twin, who has played the duo’s music in his live set.
Last year, KOAN Sound’s Funk Blaster EP, also on OWSLA, achieved the top spot in the Beatport releases category. Fresh off the Full Flex Express Tour, which had Bastow and Weeks touring Canada by train with the likes of Skrillex, Diplo, Grimes and Hundred Waters, KOAN Sound are set to conquer even more of the electronic world with The Adventures of Mr. Fox.
