The Eagle Rock Yacht Club (ERYC) has announced several additions to make The Second Annual Sadie Hawkins Dance Party Of Awesome even more awesome. Set for August 25 at the Carondelet House in Downtown Los Angeles, the ERYC flagship fundraising event will feature DJ Turquoise Wisdom (Dublab) spinning in conjunction with KCRW’s Chris Douridas, Tommy B will provide one of two photo booths, there will be passed appetizers and desserts will be provided by Lemon Poppy Kitchen. And you can wash all that down with an open bar from Bushmills Irish Whiskey, Stella Artois and Barefoot Wines.
Still looking for more proof that this Dance Party deserves the “Awesome” in its name? You can enter to win raffle prizes including signed artwork by Mike Mitchell, gift certificates from Umamicatessen, Swatch watches, a cooking lesson from chef Tracy Kontos (from Gordon Ramsey’s ‘Master Chef’) and more. There will also be custom nautical airbrush tattoos to make your mother proud, oversized versions of the Yacht Club’s favorite games and a Bushmills Irish Whiskey scavenger hunt.
The Los Angeles-based ERYC is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization committed to helping create positive growth for youth and young adults through workshops, mentorships and the game of dodgeball. The organization also currently runs three adult dodgeball leagues throughout Los Angeles–North Hollywood, Glassell Park and Venice—and encourages their over 300 socially-minded members to join their efforts in creating strong communities.
Proceeds from this year’s Sadie Hawkins Dance Party of Awesome will help provide funding for The Yacht Club to partner with several recreation centers throughout Los Angeles, tackling projects such as Save Glassell Pool–a community effort to stop the public pool from being closed, and youth programs like Yacht Grub, ERYC’s ongoing partnership with Whole Foods to create a free cooking & nutrition class at the Oakwood Recreation Center in Venice, CA.
