Canadian electronic production duo ZEDS DEAD headlines the Mad Decent Block Party 2012 in Los Angeles in support of their latest release THE LIVING DEAD EP, out now via Ultra Music. The EP’s first single “The Living Dead” features frequent collaborator Toronto-based rapper Omar LinX and epitomizes the duo’s dark fantasy, hip hop-influenced beats. “The Living Dead” video premiered on MTV and features actor Peter Greene—best known for his role as “Zed” in Quentin Tarantino’s classic film Pulp Fiction—in a twisted, VHS lo-fi romp into slasher horror camp.

THE LIVING DEAD EP also features second single “Cowboy” (details TBA). Paired with Omar LinX’s self-reflective rhymes and guitar-driven melodies, “Cowboy” showcases ZEDS DEAD’s ability to switch from heavy, face-melting bass music to rock-tinged harmonies. “Crank” further underlines ZEDS DEAD’s powerful builds and gut-wrenching drops, while “Take A Chance” takes listeners on a slow-burning journey. THE LIVING DEAD runs the production gamut of ZEDS DEAD and proves to be their most versatile release to date. One of the fastest-rising up-and-comers out of Toronto, ZEDS DEAD is composed of producers DC and Hooks, making some amazing hip-hop-influenced dubstep. Since their launch, ZEDS DEAD have released several fan favorites on some of today’s most influential independent electronic dance music labels, including Mad Decent/Jeffree’s, Dim Mak, San City High, Basshead and more. As two of the hardest workers in electronic music, ZEDS DEAD’s tireless efforts have earned them an excellent reputation amongst a new generation of producers as artists without borders; genres hold no bearing over their music as they transcend style and form with ease. They have established themselves as a dominant force in EDM circles and have received recognition and praise from tastemakers worldwide, including Skrillex, Diplo, Bassnectar and 12th Planet. Catch them live and you’ll know: ZEDS DEAD is here to stay.
