Treasure Island Music Festival, a 2-day festival from October 17-18, 2015, takes place on a cozy artificial island between San Francisco and Oakland. Hosted by bay area music and concert veterans, Another Planet Entertainment and Noise Pop, the festival provides first-rate talent in an intimate setting right by the sea.

This year, talent includes The National, Chvrches, Deadmau5, The War On Drugs, Azealia Banks, Run the Jewels, Robyn & La Bagatelle Magique, Panda Bear, Father John Misty, Deerhunter, Cashmere Cat, and more. Schedules for Saturday and Sunday will be released as the festival weekend draws closer, though generally hip hop and electronic artists play on the first day while indie and rock artists play the following day. The island will house two stages alternating performances throughout the weekend with no overlapping set times.

The compactness of the island affects the logistics of the entire festival. All the stages, booths, and the ferris wheel are situated nearby each other, meaning convenient walks anywhere on the festival grounds. To allot more space for the festival, parking spaces are extremely limited and must be purchased in advance through the festival’s website. However, the festival provides free shuttles from the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco to the festival location, bypassing the need to drive.

For those unaccustomed to bay area weather, warmer clothes and layers are advised. Ocean breezes, fog, and dropping temperatures in the evening can cause discomfort if unprepared.

Tickets are still available here for $169.50 // http://treasureislandfestival.com/2015/tickets/
