TEENOn February 19th, Carpark Records will release TEEN’s new album Love Yes. Today, TEEN shares the latest single from the record, the poignant song “Please”. Songwriter and keyboardist, Lizzie Lieberson talked to Rookie, who premiered the track, about the song:

“Please” is actually about my father, who passed away a few years ago. The whole song is basically me wishing I could have a conversation with him. It’s about trying to remember what he would say, but also how he saw me. I’m asking myself what did he see in me, and who am I without him and his guidance.

TEEN kicks of their U.S. tour with a special record release show in Brooklyn on February 14th at Union Pool with friends Miho Hatori’s New Optimism, Gemma and hosted by Becca Kauffman. U.S. tour dates.

Love Yes explores the disharmony and empowerment that both sexuality and spirituality can create within the modern woman’s psyche. Universal ideas of loyalty, pleasure, purity, power, aging and love are confronted with a knowable specificity. There is a quality of wholesomeness, but also an edge—a kind of wise anger and electricity. It is a beautiful, detailed album about womanhood and the embodiment of the sensual, played by a group fully in step with one another. Love Yes bursts into the static air with a vibrancy recognized by its confidence and power.
