G3: Gaming for Charity!!

Want to use gaming as a way to make a difference in a child’s life? G3 (Gaming and Giving for Good) is a LIVE 24 hour charity event that will raise funds for Extra Life, a program through the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Signing up is a snap, and it’s making money for kids doing something you LOVE to do! Before you sign up or read any further, please check out the inspiration of this whole fund raiser HERE . Her name is Victoria, and friends and family brought her video games as fun distraction during many of her hospital visits.
Please know that when you register to play, your raised funds are going to kids in your own neighborhood, and you will get to pick the hospital of your choice. This year’s event is on October 15th (Saturday) at 8am, and the rules are simple:
1. PLAY ANY GAME YOU WANT: Whether on xbox360, PS3, Wii, DS, PSP, PC, even your PHONE (yeah, that’s right, go ahead and try to finally beat all those Angry Birds levels).
2. PLAY ANYWHERE YOU WANT: Get comfy!! It doesn’t matter where you play from, if it’s home, at a buddy’s house, go co-op status, on your phone in the park, the possibilities are endless.
3. YOUR GAMING HOURS MUST TOTAL 24: They want to make this marathon so easy for you, you can get a head start on your 24 hours the day before OR you can make up the time later.
Why is this so simple and easy? The website says the most important thing is your commitment. This is your word saying you will raise funds to help make kids feel and get better. If you don’t want to participate in the actual gaming, you can help out in other ways, too. You can make a single donation, or you can help me pledge on my link below!
There are two separate days to play, all going for the same cause. The people at XBOX decided to make their own marathon day on October first, and get this: “In support of G3, Xbox LIVE is offering a Free Gold Weekend to everyone on the weekend of October 1, 2011.” The second link is for all other console players (but also including XBOX360).
