Resident Evil 6 Details Revealed: Smarter Enemies, Tougher Gameplay
Details and fresh new images of Resident Evil 6‘s protagonists and foes was released today via Brett Elston’s Blog. In it, Elston describes what kind of fight you’re up against saying that even the classic zombies have sharpened their senses and stepped up their game. In addition to those nostalgic mutated beings, a new class of enemies, J’avo (Serbian for “demon”) are described as being more dangerous than the run of the mill zombie as they can now understand speech and coordinating attacks. They have the ability to regenerate limbs so planning your attacks will be crucial (perhaps this character is semi-inspired by the likeness of regeneradors from past Resident Evil titles, particularly the ones you encounter in 4).
The confirmed characters are as follows: Leon S Kennedy, Helena Harper, Chris Redfield, Mystery Man (no details about his particular plot or direction in the story has been released at this time), Ingrid Hunnigan, and lastly the president of the United States: Adam Benford who is at the beginning of the game revealed as becoming a zombie.
We could tell from the trailer that Chris Redfield was in a coastal, Chinese location and that has been revealed as Lanshiang, thus totaling the locations for RE6 at three (gameplay is also included in Raccoon City and Twin Oaks).
And finally, the Capcom gods have smiled upon the gamers who have pleaded for the ability to move and shoot at the same time. In addition to these new tactics, you will also be able to allow your character to duck for cover, and use evasive maneuvers such as rolling away from enemy swings in melee attacks.
Resident Evil 6 releases on November 20, 2012.
