U-tilzing the Wii for Assassin’s Creed® III
Assassin’s Creed® III could be a breakthrough game for the Nintendo Wii U, as the tablet will essentially be a dependable companion while exploring the world of Animus. Since Ubisoft has been relatively tight lipped where their Wii U version of the game is concerned, news rapidly spread across the internet with details of the controller’s functionality.
The Wii U tablet’s touch screen will be a direct link between players to the “Animus”, as well as providing an extensive encyclopedia of insight to in game characters. In an effort to provide a smoother gaming experience, Animus Database Entries will be an optional pop up on the tablet’s touch screen versus the playing screen, which will prevent any interruptions in flow. A touch of the finger will change dual wield combat to single, a move that showcases the simplicity of the Wii U touchscreen. Lastly, the touch screen can also be used as an alternate view for Eagle Vision in which players can utilize the accelerometor to control the camera angles.
Assassin’s Creed® III is due for release October 30, 2012 for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. No official release date has been announced for other platforms at this time.
