If there were ever a doubt that the mobile games industry is small potatoes, let this be your awakening.
BulkyPix, known for their mobile games The Sandbox and Saving Private Sheep among others, announced a dedicated budget of a cool $3 million just for indie studios. The budget is projected to allow 3 years’ support for indie studios to develop games co-produced by BulkyPix.
“The future of video gaming lies with independent studios,” says BulkyPix COO Vincent Dondaine. He should know; in its less-than-three years’ existence, BulkyPix has partnered with about 50 independent studios to create nearly 100 games. BulkyPix CEO Olivier Pierre explained that the $3 million budget, “will allow us to reinforce that investment in independent production.”
