Riot Games Announces League of Legends Championship Series
Heads up boys and girls. For those of you who are avid players of the MMO League of Legends by Riot Games you are in for a treat. Recently, Riot Games announced that it was creating a next-level, highly competitive, eSports Pro League consisting of North American, European and Asian teams coming “early 2013″.
Signs point to an all-out effort with Riot Games promising “millions of dollars” in cold-hard cash and prizes for contenders. Previously, those who participated at the Challenger Circuit level enjoyed excellent hosting from Major League Gaming, IGN Pro League, and Intel Extreme Masters. Remaining teams will battle “for regional and global dominance” with several matches per week, all of which will be broadcast live in HD worldwide for the low price of free.
Those of you that wish to watch regionals in person can do so at the European Season Two Regionals August 16-19 at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. North American’s get their chance August 30 – September 2 at PAX Prime in Seattle, Washington.
