FEATURED ARTIST: theFALLEN Releases Debut Album ‘Bury Your Demons
Exploding out of Yorkshire, England, The 5 piece metal band ‘theFALLEN’ is our newest FEATURED ARTIST OF THE WEEK!! This band was introduced to me by a friend of mine who I also consider my music Guru, so when I was approached with the opportunity of reviewing the bands full length debut album ‘BURY YOUR DEMONS’ of course I was thrilled! First impressions of the band? This is a seriously talented group of guys that seem to always have time to connect with the masses. Having spent the last year touring the UK and Europe with such bands as Theory of a Deadman and Asking Alexandria promoting the bands debut EP ‘The Harbinger’, Front man Johnny Fallen along with fellow band mates, James Langley – Guitars/Vocals, Richard Reilly – Guitars/Vocals, Josh Adamson – Bass/Vocals, Dom White – Drums/Electronics, are all amped to get right back out on the road to promote the new album. The band has been touring off the back of a 2 track EP, providing the masses only a small taste of what the band can do, so understandably the band is hungry to get their sound out to the people.

The album ‘BURY YOUR DEMON’S', Was written by ‘theFALLEN’ and produced by ‘theFALLEN’ and Neil Haynes. This 10 track set breaks traditional freshman album rules by bringing the bands vulnerable side out in the open from the jump using every song to tear down each emotional layer. The album breaths raw emotion while life on the road bleeds through the lyrics. From the exhilaration of being on stage with fans fists in the air chanting their lyrics “fists in the air… your voice is louder than you think..” to the more personal levels of tour life including the long nights away from the ones you love, the cravings of human contact and the needs of the flesh.
The albums first single, ‘Dirty Little Dead Girl’ gives you all you could want in a single. You have anthem rock chorus’s and gritty verses that explode in your mouth like pop rocks. Johnny Fallen’s solid vocals carry through the bands thunderous drumming and hypnotic guitaring. Lyrics such as “…murder murder i’ll never hurt ya…” will keep this song close to your lips.
The track ‘Face in the Dirt’ is your album anthem song. A good concert song to get the crowds up and on their feet interacting with the band and shouting back lyrics giving them life.
One of two ballads on the album, is a track called Distance that touches on the agony and heartache of being on the road. Lyrics hint of things you tell yourself to make the distance not so far apart and of the frustration from being gone too long. The song ends to a skipping record echoing a bit of loneliness to resonate the songs tone.
The final track on the album, De Integro has a slow melodic almost metallic trance feel to it. The entire track is a feeling of release. It for all intense purposes this song is the final quivers of a passionate embrace. The song is breathy and hypnotic, and Johnny’s voice leaves you scratching at the skin for more.
Final thoughts? GO BUY THIS ALBUM!!! I can’t say enough about how amazing it is. You find a blend of strong vocals, deeply felt lyrics and versatile musicianship all on one album.
