Earlier this afternoon (August 2), the acclaimed fashion designer and singer sent out a photograph via her official Twitter page that set fans’ tongues wagging as recent reports have hinted that the British girl group may reunite for the occasion.

The picture in question is of a silver jewelled microphone and she accompanied the shot with the teasing caption: “look what I found!!”

The Sunday Mirror’s celebrity and entertainment columnist, Dean Piper, also took to the social networking site this afternoon and revealed that the Spice Girls are in fact “rehearsing” for the event today:

Spice Girls are set to auction off some of their classic clothes to raise money for charity.

The 90s pop group recently reunited for the day as they launched new musical Viva Forever!, which is based around the band.

The Mirror reports that to coincide with the musical, the five ladies will auction off some of their Spice Girls clothing for Save The Children and Children In Need at a gala event.

Items expected to go up for sale include Victoria Beckham’s leather and PVC outfits and Mel C’s Adidas tracksuits. Geri Halliwell’s famed Union Jack dress will not be part of the auction.

Speaking about her outfits, Victoria Beckham said that it will be “fantastic” to raise money for charity. She said:

“I’ve got all my costumes still. I can’t wait for Harper to grow a little so she can have some. But the rest I’d like to put up for charity, I think it would be a fantastic thing to do. Everything we did at the time was great, it really was great. We watched a little video Geri put together and I think we were nearly all brought to tears.”

Iconic British girl group the Spice Girls have revealed their regret and disappointment at not having performed at the Queen’s Jubilee Concert over the bank holiday weekend.

Back in February, Mel C confirmed that the girl power pioneers would not be taking part in the nationwide celebrations and told Lorraine Kelly:

“Unfortunately we don’t plan to perform or reform, so I’m sorry to disappoint anybody. We often have things that we talk about and it was something that we discussed, but unfortunately it’s not going to happen.”

All Saints singer Nicole Appleton tweeted a public message to both Melanie C and Emma Bunton telling them the Spice Girls should have performed at the Diamond Jubilee Concert: “Ok the spice girls should have rocked this show!!..Xxx”

Mel C also added: “Bit miffed I’m not down at Buckingham Palace :-( x”

Mel B has suggested that there’s still a possibility the Spice Girls may reform for the upcoming Queen’s Diamond Jubilee concert.

Speaking to presenter Nadia Sawalha on ITV’s ‘Lorraine,’ the 36-year-old refused to confirm Melanie C’s recent comments that the band weren’t going to appear at the Buckingham Palace event on June 4:

“I never say never. I’m always up for a Spice Girls reunion.

“It’s my perfect excuse to get my boots on, get my hair going, being louder than life.”

The new ‘Dancing With The Stars Australia’ co-host fuelled rumours about their possible appearance in a Twitter message last month, but has since been contradicted by both Melanie C and then Geri Halliwell, who hinted that Victoria Beckham had declined an offer to perform at the show.
