DreamWorks Reinvigorates Halo Movie

(VG247) In 2005, Alex Garland wrote the first scripted for the film adaptation of Bungie’s most popular franchise. The movie has gone through many famous directors hands now and the time-lapse of a dying project seemed to meet its final death in 2007 when District 9 director Neill Blomkamp said the project would never be finished. On April 7, Frank O’Connor of Bungie said this: “we’re going to make a movie when the time is right”.
It still seems like it will never happen, but now this is some kind of chance studios looking into making a film with the fighting men and women of the UNSC. No writer has been hired for the reinvigorated project, but it doesn’t look like anything will be happening in the next year unless rights for the movie is green lit by Microsoft. With the success of Reach, it only makes sense to make a film now that Bungie has officially stopped working on the franchise. Look for some kind of Halo film before the end of the world.
