It was a magical night at the Troubadour on April 11th, 2013 – Dave Stewart & Friends played to a sold out show and the night was full of energy as the audience was treated to many master–class performances in an iconic venue. Kaya Stewart opened the night, and for those who don’t know, she’s Dave Stewart’s very talented and poised 14 year old daughter. She came onstage and did a solid cover of Amy Winehouse’s, “Valerie”. It’s always tricky when someone tries to cover a song by Amy but Kaya pulled it off with the confidence and swagger of a rock n roll veteran. Kaya’s voice is controlled and soulful for someone so young – and I’m positive we will see more of this young woman in the future.
