The NES Turns 25

I haven’t even been alive for 25 years, but I definitely remember the Nintendo Entertainment System. It was the first console that I ever played and one of the most memorable for the gaming community. The official sales number on the console was 40.23 million units as of 1999.
Some of the most popular titles for the console were The Legend of the Zelda, Metroid, Mega Man, Castlevania, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest and Super Mario Brothers. I mainly stuck to just playing Super Mario Brothers and Pac-Man though whenever I played the NES. What games did you guys play on the NES if you had one?
Several mods (modifications) have been created from Nintendo’s famed system including the GameBoy SP. Many coders have also created emulators. What is your favorite way to play NES games these days? Hopefully by the 50th birthday of the NES, Nintendo has gotten back to create both good console and spectacular games like the SNES with Super Mario World.
