Digitalism is a German electro duo, founded in 2004 in Hamburg, consisting of Jens “Jence” Moelle and İsmail “Isi” Tüfekçi. Jens likens Digitalism’s songs to simple chapters in a complex novel about social interaction and attraction, with distorted baselines and thumping rhythms comprising the punctuation. In June 2011, Digitalism released the second studio album, I love You Dude, on Cooperative Music. The album includes the previously released single “Blitz” and Stratophere”, the hit-single “2 Hearts” and a cooperation with Julian Casablancas. All over the sound on the second album has become more open-minded. Digitalism’s sound is crossing the limits between Electro, Rock and Indie. Digitalism has remixed tracks for Tom Vek, The Futureheads, Daft Punk, Tiga, Klaxons, White Stripes, Monk, Depeche Mode, Cut Copy and many others. Their tracks and remixes are played by DJs such as Erol Alkan, Soulwax, Boys Noize, and Justice, among others. LISTEN

Sean Ragon has been active in the DIY punk, industrial and experimental music communities on the east coast for over 15 years. Ragon also runs a record store and label in Brooklyn (Heaven Street and Blind Prophet Records, respectively). He has been recording under the moniker of Cult of Youth for the last five years. Cult of Youth’s last album produced by Chris Coady was a huge leap forward for the band, which had expanded to a four piece. It landed them on tours with Zola Jesus, Cold Cave and Iceage last summer and caused quite a stir not only among more indie-centric press outlets such as Pitchfork and Stereogum but with underground publications such as Heathen Harvest and Special Interests magazine as well.
